We, the American people, have been blessed with many great orators in our illustrious History, but none as great as Abraham Lincoln.
Indeed, his two terms in office were of unique and grand consequence for the Republic. Lincoln’s speeches were tutorials that allowed the people of the Union to understand the moment and the importance of their support.
Three of Lincoln’s speeches are spectacular moments in the nation’s history. The first was his speech in New York City to the Lyceum, in which he cemented his claim as the lone legitimate presidential candidate.
