Nullification-Now It's Our Turn, by Otto Schmidt
Jury and judge have clearly engaged in state-endorsed nullification, ignoring the law from the charging phase to the verdict. Two can play at that game.
Upon hearing the Trump verdict, I mowed my lawn to calm down. The concept of nullification came to mind. The jury and judge have clearly engaged in a form of state-endorsed nullification. They willfully ignored the law from the charging phase to the verdict.
Let's consider for a moment that the sitting president sent a campaign surrogate to speak outside the courthouse just prior to jury deliberations. This action further pulled off the mask that NY officials were acting independently. Like the officials in Fulton County, GA, there is clearly a coordinated effort to exclude Trump from the pending election…READ MORE…
World War III Watch: Have We Forgotten the History of Our Incrementally Increased Involvement in Vietnam?
Though Russia's invasion of Ukraine came nowhere close to the success anticipated for it, and Ukraine resisted far more strongly than ever anticipated, the Ukrainians are slowly losing this war.
Some of us are old enough¹ to remember how President Lyndon Johnson slowly expanded our involvement in the war in Vietnam, piece by piece, little by little, until we had half a million troops there.
There are 58,276 names on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, but our 'leaders' in Washington seem to have forgotten that…READ MORE…
The United States of Banana: The Newest Banana Republic on the Block
Under President Joe Biden, the United States has ascended—or rather descended—to the prestigious rank of the world’s largest banana republic.
Well, folks, it seems like the land of the free and the home of the brave has taken a nosedive straight into the land of the bananas. Yes, you heard it right. Under President Joe Biden, the United States has ascended—or rather descended—to the prestigious rank of the world’s largest banana republic. Move over, Honduras and Guatemala; there's a new kid on the block with a bigger basket of bananas and even juicier scandals.
First on the agenda, let's talk about the dazzling array of corruption. Remember those good old days when we thought political scandals were confined to Watergate? Ah, simpler times. Fast forward to today, and we have a president whose alleged shady deals with Ukraine and China make Nixon look like a saint. Biden's dealings have been swept under the rug so efficiently that one starts to wonder if we should rename the White House cleaning staff the "Cover-Up Crew." Who knew transparency meant "transparently ignoring" all the questionable activities abroad?…READ MORE…
The United States: We are Now the Taliban
Like our Base Renaming Commission, the Taliban also practice iconoclasm, the smashing of images or destruction of traditional ideas for political ends.
In early 2021, I was the Command Historian for a 4-star command, and I was tagged to be an advisor to the politically correct, Base Renaming Commission. Fortunately, I retired before I had to provide any serious input, which is a good thing. Why? Because I would have told the Renaming Commission that they were now just like the Taliban.
I’m sure many readers will recall how the Taliban, after taking control of Afghanistan, blew up two massive statues of the Buddha carved in the sandstone cliffs of Bamiyan Valley in early 2001. The world was aghast, with an outpouring of universal condemnation.[1] Yet, here we are, destroying statues and renaming locales to erase the memory of people we don’t like. Some may cry out, “but those southerners were insurrectionists!” But we must not forget that according to strict Islam, the Buddhas were idols, a violation of Islamic law and thus subject to destruction…READ MORE…
A Satirical Comparison: Uncle Joe vs. Nero
Emperor Nero, that ancient rockstar of depravity, makes our current political circus look like a tea party.
As we navigate the twists and turns of modern politics, it's easy to grumble about the old man in the White House. But let's take a moment to count our blessings: at least Uncle Joe isn't channeling his inner Nero!…READ MORE…
When Will the Air Force Academy’s Alumni Association Confront the DEI Nemesis? By Scott Sturman
Service academies have few safeguards to mitigate the implementation and prioritization of programs, however disruptive and destructive.
Superintendents at United States military academies enjoy great latitude to implement policies that affect the training and philosophical attitudes of the cadets and midshipmen under their command—a cohort who will cast an outsized influence over future military policy and constitute 20% of the officer corps. Recent areas of emphasis such as CRT, DEI, gender identity, and blatant discrimination against white male cadets are controversial, politically driven, illegal, and divisive…READ MORE…
